Rowing at YBC
Yare Boat club is open to anyone aged 18 and over.
Club sessions are usually on a Saturday and Sunday mornings from 07:45 and a second outing around 10.00am. We also have coached sessions available on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 07:45am (and Friday evenings as the light allows) to develop our skills. The racing athletes also train on land several times a week.
We have a fleet of four quads/fours (soon to be joined by a brand new Janousek quad/four!), ten doubles and fourteen singles, from lightweight to heavyweight. Most of our members scull, but we also have an growing section of sweep rowers.
If you are more inclined towards rowing for recreation and pleasure, this is the club for you - we have many small groups of scullers who meet for company at various times and days of the week.
We have a full calendar of club events - racing (both against other clubs on our river and further afield, and fun races just for our own club), recreational outings, pub rows, overnight camping rows, social events and work parties.
We currently do not have a specific junior section as such, however we do cater for members’ children who can become junior members and row at the club.
